Nobody walks the Albert Cuyp Market on an empty stomach, and certainly not with a full bag. The market runs Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm. We are around the corner for what comes after: a table, a glass, and permission to put your shopping down.

From the market to Gerard Douplein
Salut sits on Gerard Doustraat, right on Gerard Douplein, a few steps from the market. From Thursday to Sunday we open at noon, exactly when the market has done its busiest hours. On Tuesday and Wednesday we open at 3 pm, and we are closed on Mondays. In good weather you sit outside on the square; inside, Jean-Philippe Demeyer’s yellow room is waiting.
What to order after the market
Something light? Fine de Normandie oysters, or brioche with eel. Something firmer? The Toast Cannibale, the Crevettes Pil Pil, or Moules Pastis with beurre blanc. And if you made it through the market on nothing but a stroopwafel, order the steak frites. See the menu.

Steak frites and côte de boeuf
Little rounds off a morning at the market better than steak frites with golden fries. Coming with a group? The côte de boeuf à partager is built for a long afternoon.
Something sweet to finish
Stay for the chocolate mousse or the cheesecake. It is market day, after all, and the shopping bag is not going anywhere.

Wine by the glass
Our own Cuvée Salut Chardonnay is fresh and round, and sits alongside a changing selection by the glass — right now, for instance, a Rully, a white Burgundy from the Côte Chalonnaise that works beautifully with seafood and lighter plates. Prefer something alcohol-free? We have a list for that too. See the wine list.

Save the date
From 21 to 25 October the Amsterdam Dance Event fills up De Pijp. We are here for the lunch before and the late lunch after — and the second one may well be the best meal of that week. More about ADE.
